Community Investment Process

Community Investment programs help to ensure that children are ready to learn and earn, families are financially stable, and there is a safety net of services available to every member of our community. These programs are provided by partner agencies that have met United Way’s standards for management, governance and financial accountability.

Each year, more than 70 knowledgeable, trained volunteers from central and northeastern Connecticut are involved in distributing Community Investment contributions. They work in small teams to review agencies’ proposals and meet with each partner agency to ensure that Community Investment supported programs are getting results for children, families and our community.

For more information on becoming a Community Investment volunteer, please contact Libby Richardson at lrichardson@unitedwayinc.org.
