Media and Marketing Opportunities

While we appreciate your efforts to attract media attention on Day of Caring, please refrain from sending press releases to local media contacts to cover your workplace’s activities. Day of Caring press releases are sent out regularly by United Way and you may be invited to participate in one of our media events.

Past Day of Caring coverage included:

  • WTIC-AM  live radio broadcast from United Way

  • WDRC – On air Interview

  • WILI – On air interview

  • WRCH – On air interview

  • WTIC-FM – On air interview

  • WKND – Public service announcements

  • WLAT – Public service announcements

  • WNEZ (Spanish) – Public service announcements

  • Connecticut Business Magazine

  • Connecticut Magazine

  • Hartford Business Journal

  • Hartford Magazine

  • Numerous local newspapers

Day of Caring is a ready-made marketing opportunity for your workplace. Don't miss this opportunity to show off your workplace to potential clients and all of your employees. Be creative and get the message out about what your workplace is doing in the community.

  • Feature your volunteer team in your workplace newsletter to report your success to the community. Other communication tools might include your workplace web site or intranet and letters to the editor (to thank your employees) in local newspapers. Please share any published items with the United Way for our Day of Caring scrapbook.
  • Generate ideas to recognize your employee team. It is one of the best ways to ensure that they will participate again.
  • Prepare an informational packet about the work your employees do to share with other employees or potential employees.
  • Take “before and after” pictures to display at your workplace or share them with your employees at a workplace staff meeting.

If you have any further questions, please email Day of Caring project manager Libby Richardson or call (860) 493-1109.
