United Way Day of Caring: 5,000 Volunteers Strong...and Growing!

In fall 2008, more than 5,000 volunteers from local workplaces pitched in at more than 350 United Way Day of Caring project sites for 155 local nonprofit organizations throughout the 40 towns in central and northeastern Connecticut that are supported by the United Way Community Campaign. The 17th annual United Way Day of Caring, held on September 5, 2008, was the single largest volunteer opportunity in our service area.

Whether you are a volunteer or a corporate sponsor, we hope you'll join us on Friday, September 11, 2009 for United Way Day of Caring XVIII--it promises to be bigger and better than ever! In the meantime, please visit Volunteer Solutions for year-round volunteering opportunities.
