Who We Are
United Way of the Capital Area is a nonprofit organization that has been meeting human care needs in the 40 towns throughout north central Connecticut for 80 years. With its network of partner agencies, volunteers and community leaders, our United Way takes a leadership role in changing conditions to improve lives in the Greater Hartford region.
The annual United Way Community Campaign provides the opportunity for people in our community to support the causes and nonprofit organizations important to them. Through United Way’s Community Investment, donors’ gifts are invested in programs to ensure success for children, strong and healthy families and a thriving community. Programs funded through Community Investment are researched and monitored by knowledgeable, experienced volunteers to be certain that they
maintain the highest levels of governance and financial accountability.
