Your leadership matters - A Message from your
Chairman
Dear Community Campaign Coordinator,
Thank you for agreeing to lead the 2006 United Way Community
Campaign at your organization. I hope you are as excited as I am
about participating in this important campaign that will raise
dollars to change lives and improve conditions in the communities
where we work and live.
Our campaign will focus heavily this year on educating donors about
the importance of Community Investment. Contributions to Community
Investment effect the most change in people's lives and bring about
the most community improvements. We know that donors really want
their contributions to make a difference. Community Investment is
the best way to do that.
As a marathon runner, I have learned a great deal about the need for
training, planning and information, a strong support team and the
ability to push on to the finish line. Please consider this
coordinator toolkit a race plan. I hope you were able to attend the
Jumpstart coordinator training or the makeup training held later in
the summer. If so, you're off to a great start. If not, you will not
fall behind because this toolkit is filled with planning tools and
useful information designed to help you run a successful campaign.
Additionally, you have a great support team in the United Way
campaign staff. Feel free to contact them at 860-493-6851 for
assistance or answers to questions. Campaign Headquarters is open
24/7 on this website with tools and resources that can be
downloaded.
Crossing the 2006 Community Campaign finish line strong is important
because thousands of people in our community are depending on us.
They are counting on us to raise the dollars needed for programs
that ensure children are successful, families are strong and healthy
and communities are improved.
Thank you for lending your time and talents to ensure that everyone
in our community has an opportunity to be in the race for a better
future.
Sincerely,
John J. Patrick
